All regenerate Christians are saints. 🙂
Wrong. You are a sinner, and sinners are not Saints until you live a life totally for God and you are martyred for the faith. Even the Saints were sinners, but God called to them, and the others were martyred for the faith. The secret? **Perserverance **in their faith.

all christians ARE called to BE saints that we don’t always live up to this expectation is cause we human… one needs not to be martyred to be decalred a saint…you are most completely correct on perserverance being the key…there are many saintly people who have gone to their reward yet are not declared saints…being declared a saint by the Church is not done off the wall rather it is done by a very detailed process and various “checks”…

Eph. 1:1: “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus.”

Is Paul writing to the dead?

you full well know the Saints aren’t dead:D like i said we are called to be saints…also we are to bring each other up…maybe St. Paul was encouraging them by calling them saints to get them to live even more Christ like lives…

In case it may have escaped anybody’s notice, this is not a thread about what constitutes a saint but rather a thread asking The Protestants what do they know, if anything about any of the cannonized Catholic and/or Orthodox Saints. Incidentally, Sunday was St. Joseph of Arimathea and St. Nicodemus’ Feasts.

Oh fine, we’ll behave 😛

Any Protestant on here who really thinks they are saints is sadly mistaken. You just think it is so easy to get into the kingdom of heaven.

Bet ya didn’t know that us Anglicans ALSO believe in the Communion of Saints!

I think the Anglican Martyrs of Uganda deserve to be far better known - I wonder how many Catholics have even heard of James Hannington ? 😦 The Catholic 22 were not alone.
