Even in your version the decision was GODâS. He guided them to include the books HE wanted, correct? So GOD decided what was to be involved. I believe that God is All Powerful and that nothing in the bible would have been omitted if it meant our life or death. He wanted to make sure we had the guide needed to follow Him.
Your zeal is good, let me give you a few verses that come to mind when I read your post.
John 14:16-19 âAnd I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.â
John 14: 25-27 " âI have told you this while I am with you.The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my nameâhe will teach you everything and remind you of all that (I) told you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraidâŚâ "
He is promising us people who are guided by the Holy Spirit to Truth, there is no mention here of a book (again the Bible is given to us by God, but is it the sole authority?) These people did bring us the New Testament, inspired by God through the Holy Spirit.
They have the Truth facilitated by the Holy Spirit, not of themselves.
âIn a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.â
Man, that sounds a lot like Christ is âlivingâ through his apostles, not only through the scriptures.
