am also puzzled… If Jesus is God would He not also know the day or the hour?
Matthew 24:36
Mark 13:32
Jesus, pre-Incarnate Word, emptied Himself of His Divinity in order to assimilate the creature, man.
John the Baptist introduced Jesus as the Lamb of God. What was the purpose of the Lamb of God, to Reveal to man all of the Mysteries of God? As the Son of man, Jesus is not here to prove His Divinity but to Bridge the Gap between man and God.
…the Bible says not to trust the Son of Man… Psalm 146:
But is it “the Son of man” or “son of a man?”
Now, if it is Jesus that this Psalm speak about, how can you reconcile this:
16 For dogs have surrounded Me;
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
They pierced My hands and My feet;
17 I can count all My bones.
They look and stare at Me.
18 They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots. (Psalm 22)
10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. (Psalm 16)
Have/are all humans going to experience this?
Now, let’s look at the context and content together:
3 Do not put your trust in princes,
Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth;
In that very day his plans perish.
5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Who made heaven and earth,
The sea, and all that is in them;
Who keeps truth forever, (Psalm 146)
Do not trust in man; trust only in God!
Then
John 7:16 My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. Why is His doctrine not His?
Yeah, the Jehovah Witnesses hit themselves with similar seeming Scriptural conundrums as they visualize an ancient old man teaching the Son the things He is to say and do; they fail to accept that God is Spirit (St. John 4); hence, He is not limited to temporal values.
Matt 15:24 “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
Jesus was not sent for the whole world but only for the lost sheep of Israel. Wouldn’t God send His Son for the whole world?
Matt 26:39 Do Jesus and God have the same will? “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
Along with the above (St. John 17:16), you can only understand this if you allow the Holy Spirit to Enlighten you:
*The Word: God that Exists along side God, from the Beginning
*The Incarnate Word: Jesus: God Who Comes to His Own to Keep His Promise
*Jesus, the Immanuel, the Messiah: both the Word and the Lamb (Son) of God, Who is Sacrificed for the benefit the whole world
*Jesus, the Lamb of God, Who is rejected by His own people so that the Gentiles can gain access to God’s Salvific Plan
*Resurrected Jesus: the King of kings, the Lord of lords: the Life and Light of the world: the Alpha and the Omega: the Beginning and the End.
