Psalm 104:35 "sins" vs. "sinners"

NAB Ps 104:35 May sinners vanish from the earth,
and the wicked be no more.
Bless the LORD, my soul! Hallelujah!

RSV-2dCE Ps 104.35 Let sinners be consmed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more! Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the Lord!

I’m reading “Everybody’s Talmud” by Rabbi Abraham Cohen. He has occasion to comment on this verse in Part VII The Moral Life, part II Filial Love. The Hebrew was written without consonants so the word that is translated “sinners” could also be translated as “sins” – which gives the verse a more uplifting, redemptive idea.

This to go along with your comments regarding the RSV2-CE.

I would stand by this your statement from the book you are reading. The version from the NAB doesn’t draw the same conclusion and Hallelujah sounds too Protestant

7 [35] Hallelujah: a frequent word in the last third of the Psalter. The word combines the plural imperative of praise (hallelu) with an abbreviated form of the divine name Yah(weh).

The Douay-Rheims, Latin Vulgate doesn’t use the word Hallelujah in the Bible and the RSV-CE does 5 times. In this case the RSV-2CE is much better than the NAB
