One of the most oft quoted pieces of scriptures used by atheists is Psalm 136, specifically:

8 O daughter of Babylon, miserable: blessed shall he be who shall repay thee thy payment which thou hast paid us.
9 Blessed be he that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock.

I’ve been revolted by this passage as well, but Fr. Robert Barron has just posted an illuminating commentary regarding these Marcion heresies: youtube.com/watch?v=pP2InFa16D0&feature=channel_page

I would also recommend his other Youtube postings, Fr. Robert Barron knows how to use new technology.

The priest on the video says that some books are to be interpreted as legend.

Which?

Do you (I am assuming you agree with the preist you cited) think just the first 2 chapters of Genesis are legend or the whole book?

I may have to listen to the video again, but I am pretty sure that he said the genre of whole books should be seen as legend.

If so, which books (only Genesis)? How do you know? Because modern man thinks they’re primitive (modern men tend to think the resurrection primitive too)??

Thanks,
Tim
