A re-wording of Psalm 95 (94) for the Liturgy of the Hours. I used Fr. Knox’s version as a foundation and referenced the Douay Rheims and a Greek interlinear.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Psalm 95 (94)
(Antiphon)
Come and rejoice in the glory of the Lord:
Cry out joyfully to our strength and deliverer;
Come into His presence with praise, singing a joyful psalm
(Antiphon)
A great God is the Lord, sovereign above all authorities;
beneath His hand lie the depths of earth,
His are the mountain peaks; His the sea, for He created them.
What other power could fashion the dry land?
(Antiphon)
Come, bow low in worship,
and weep before the Lord who made us.
Who, but the Lord, is God?
And we, the people He pastures,
the sheep that follows His beckoning hand.
(Antiphon)
Should you recognize His voice today,
do not harden your hearts, as in the day of provocation.
That day, in the wilderness, when your fathers challenged me,
though they saw my power.
(Antiphon)
For forty years that generation offended me,
and I said “these are rebellious hearts and have never learned to obey me.”
So, I invoked my Justice, saying, “these will never attain my rest.”
(Antiphon)
(Doxology)
