Hello,

In the Liturgy of the Hours, is it proper to say the psalm-prayer on feast days. They don’t generally include them in the Commons (4 volume English edition) and they usually aren’t geared toward the particular feast, but are more general in nature. I know they are always just optional and never obligatory, but supposing one makes it a regular habit to include them, would it be proper to say them on the feast or no?

Since they are optional I don’t use them and they are not included in the UK version…

I guess you can but it would involve more flipping. Might as well omit the Psalm-prayers whenever they do not appear in the Proper.

Actually, I lead Vespers at my Parish. I create booklets for all who attend, so it is all in one place in sequential order.

But, I have decided to omit the psalm-prayer for the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter this weekend.
