Psychic Children

I recently saw a special on TV about children who can see spirits of dead people. I’m not talking about kids who intentionally try to communicate with spirits but those who just see spirits. How would you deal with this if one of your children said they had this ability?

I have no position on this.

They say that Children see angels and saints, too. Saints are essentially dead people…

If you were talking about kids KNOWING things that they shouldn’t know…(Like the contents of a paper bag with no labels)…then I may be inclined to believe that, too…but I won’t take it as true unless I see undisputable proof.

o my, this is not the first time that iv heard of this.
apparantly my friend’s little sisters saw a spirit in their old house.
Apparantly she just stared at it because she was in shock.
but honestly, i dunt know what to believe.

and then iv even heard stuff on the radio which could possibly be absolute rubbish of people who work as ‘ghostbusters’ (yes like the movie)… and exterminate spirits…ah…weird

i think holy water and a house blessing is good enough!

I read a book about ghosts(not demons) that said a blessing is always good but holy water should not be used by lay person. It could make things worse.

Holy water, holy salt, holy oil, your crucifix are all sacramentals and you should use them. Praying is great also. We always say the St. Michael prayer, after all he already defeated the devil. If a child of mine saw spirits or ghosts I would consult my priest. Seeing angels and saints is one thing, seeing ghost is another.

I think children being innocent are just more sensitive to the supernatural world and therefore can sometimes see things we more worldly effected adults can’t.

I saw a few things and experienced a few dreams too as a child that sent me down a path toward the occult. While I never practiced or engaged in occult behavior I did read everything I could find on it as well as on ghosts to try and understand what I saw. I think it’s only my deep faith in GOD that saved me from going down a dark path. I still don’t understand or know for certain what I saw but it’s lead me to believe that some things are better left alone and not messed with.

If a child is seeing things or experiencing things I would pray that GOD sends that childs angel to protect him/her from any dark forces at work. It’s my personal theory from everything I’ve read for example that ghosts are actually demons in disguise protending to be something or someone they are not. I don’t buy the theory that ghosts are souls in pergitory. When Saul tried to bring back the dead through a witch he was told quite clearly that GOD does not allow such things and it’s inherently evil. Again this is just my 2 cents.
