Lily, he is just baiting. Do not rise to it.

He clearly does not understand important things like redemptive suffering. Instead he wants to mock people. Do not let him disturb your peace.
Oh, sniff, I wrote an article about God, and victimized Catholics everywhere!

If there’s something I don’t understand about the Job myth, why don’t you explain it, as opposed to getting personal or claiming to be victimized (LOL! LOL!) by my supposed ignorance?

I originally was interested in an analysis of God, but am becoming enlightened by an analysis of some of the people who are attracted to him. Either way it’s informative I suppose.

LilyM,
Welcome to the world of LDS thinking…
Why don’t you psychoanalyze the Mormon God with me, if that’d be more comfortable for you. I’d welcome something intelligent from a contributor capable of some independent thought, regardless of the subject.

I’m sorry, there’s nothing in the slightest that is intelligent about even the idea of subjecting any divinity to the very human and limited (even in terms of understanding or helping humans) process known as psychoanalysis.

It is a laughable notion, and no-one could intelligently discuss it, any more than they could intelligently discuss with someone who believes the moon is made of cheese.

It is a laughable notion, and being such is no more susceptible to intelligent discussion than the notion that the moon is made of cheese.
You’ve spent over an hour replying here, so we both know you’re not being entirely honest. If there were nothing intelligent and interesting about it all, you wouldn’t have bothered.

…though guiltless, Job had secretly been lifted up to a superior knowledge of God which God himself did not possess. Had Yahweh consulted his omniscience, Job would not have had the advantage of him. But then, so many other, things would not have happened either…

I’ve spent about five minutes - a minute or so per post. I’ve certainly done plenty of other things in between posts!

And not everything that’s amusing is either interesting or intelligent. Fart jokes and drunken behaviour are neither interesting or intelligent, although they can be amusing on occasions.

With that, adieu, I do not intend to waste further time on this.

Fair enough. Nice to meet you. Take care…
