I don’t think the OP means his/her psychologist **said this to **them, simply that this is a quote from a psychologist. I have heard that quote many times before.Maybe he’s grooming you for a “special friendship”. If you have unclear memories of what happened, that’s a sign you were in fact being psychologically manipulated.

This seems like it is missing the original context. I’m not much of a fan when cryptic quotes are taken out of context.There’s a quote from a psychologist: “The more personal a thing is, the more universal.” This seems a little questionable. For relating to other people, common sense seems sufficient. Too much free time on a psychologist’s hands?

I reckon I’d agree with you.I think what the quote means is that what we all feel deep down, in the most personal part of our minds is the same as what every other person feels. The details may differ, but happiness is happiness, whatever your background.
And yes, it is missing some relevant original context… The psychologist either stating this or quoting it was Dr. Paul Dobransky, although that still doesn’t really contribute to the original context… His… “specialtise” or background isn’t exactly relevant, 'cause as you Google him, various things come upThis seems like it is missing the original context.
