Pax Domini,

1 Peter 5:5, “God resisteth the proud, but to the humble He giveth grace.” 👍

Lk 18:14, “he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”

Since our salvation depends on charity (love), and the basis for charity is humility we need to be very humble. Humility means we recognize our truth, both acknowledging our weaknesses and strengths, so we can work on our defects and grow in holiness. If God gives supernatural grace to the humble, but resists the proud, I hope it is obvious we need to be humble.

The best test to find out what you are primarily prideful about is the “Jung typology” test. The test was created to find out your personality is, but I think it does a much better job at pointing out what you are prideful about. You usually will be given this test at job interviews, I have. Here is a link to the test… humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp

Then look up your personality type on the wikipedia and you can read about what you are prideful about. This is fun!!! Be warned 😛 when you read the descriptions and notice the “pleasure” from how excellent you think you are, this is a clear indication of your pride. On of the fruits of Pride is getting pleasure from how excellent we think we are.

Another personality test that is great for growing in holiness is the Temperament Test. The temperaments are used to spiritually form priests in many seminaries, once the seminary knows the temperament of the seminarian they can guide him to increase in self-knowledge about his vices (bad habits) and grow in virtue (good habits) and holiness. They use Fr. Conrad Hock’s writings on the temperaments.

Here is a link to that temperament test… fisheaters.com/quizi.html
Fr. Conrad Hock wrote many great things about the temperaments that can be read for free here… fisheaters.com/quizm.html
This link goes to the description of the melancholic temperament, but at the bottom of the page it has a link to the other three temperaments. Another great source for the temperaments is Fr. Chad Ripperger’s book, “Introduction to the Science of Mental Health.” This really helped me better understand what I need to work on about myself to grow in holiness.

These tests will really help you, they helped me.

Interesting Tests. Some points were very accurate. Thanks for sharing.
