Not a misprint. That’s county, not country. It’s a little story. But it COULD be “throughout the country” if we do our part.

“We’re praying for a miracle to change America,” Calise said. “Right now, we’ve drifted away from the Lord and the Lord’s Mother. We’re turning away from a lot of things that are in the Bible. Abortion is murder, yet it’s OK to have an abortion. It’s OK for same-sex marriages, yet it’s not OK. We’re praying for a change, and that’s pretty much what it’s all about.”

In 1917, Our Lady appeared at Fatima to three young seers near Fatima, Portugal, with a message of warning and hope for humanity. If the world did not convert, the Blessed Mother, who identified herself as “The Lady of the Rosary,” said there would be much suffering, famines and wars. To avert such disasters, she asked for prayer, penance and other measures. There were six apparitions, the first on May 13, the sixth on Oct. 13. In 1916, the children saw three apparitions of the Angel of Portugal.

During the last apparition, the “Miracle of the Sun” occurred. According to the ANF website, it had rained all during the apparition. At the end of the conversation between the Lady of the Rosary and one of the children, Lucia, the Lady rose and Lucia shouted, “Look at the sun!”

The clouds parted, revealing the sun as an immense silver disk shining with an intensity never before seen, though not blinding. This lasted only an instant. Then the immense disk began to “dance.” The sun spun rapidly like a gigantic circle of fire. Then it stopped momentarily, only to begin spinning again. Its rim became scarlet; whirling, it scattered red flames across the sky.

There’s a Tuesday Rosary Group at my parish affiliated with the Blue Army of Fatima that prays each week after the 5:30 pm daily mass on that day. This year it’s on the anniversary of the day. Hope they have a nice “turnout”. I’ll go if I can. Try to pray a rosary elsewhere if not.

The 100th Anniversary promises to be BIG in Fatima.

Yep… We had an outdoor rosary this past Saturday at our church. This is the third year we have done this.
