Please pray for me, that I might overcome my fear of getting up in front of people. I feel called to the Catholic priesthood, but I don’t know how I will manage speaking in front of all those people frequently. If God has called me, then I must hope and pray that he will prepare me. Please pray for me dear brothers and sisters. You will all also be in my prayers.

Praying you will succeed in your speech and all speeches you perform. Also praying for your freedom from anxiety. do you have a friend in the crowd? Look at that person as though you are speaking directly to them, and ignore the crowd. It always worked for me when I performed at school choral concerts.
PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH
FOR SUCCESS IN WORK
(by Pope Saint Pius X)
Glorious St. Joseph,
model of all those who are devoted to labour,
obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously,
putting the call of duty above my many sins;
to work with thankfulness and joy,
considering it an honour to employ and develop,
by means of labour,
the gifts received from God;
to work with order,
peace, prudence and patience,
never surrendering to weariness or difficulties;
to work, above all,
with purity of intention,
and with detachment from self,
having always death before my eyes
and the account which I must render of time lost,
of talents wasted,
of good omitted,
of vain complacency in success
so fatal to the work of God.
All for Jesus,
all for Mary,
all after thy example,
O Patriarch Joseph.
Such shall be my motto in life and death.

Amen.

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Prayers for you. Try not to worry. The character of your priesthood, the love you share with Chrits, is what people see. Just write down what you wish and say and read it. Eventually, you’ll become more natural and public speaking will become a part of who you are.

You will receive encouragement and training. Don’t be afraid. Be clear and succinct when you preach. Jesus was direct and pictorial in His preaching.

“For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say.”
[Luke 12:12]

“The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit Whom the Father will send in My name, will instruct you in everything, and remind you of all that I told you.” —John 14:26

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s lead.” —Galatians 5:25

“Being the Spirit of truth He will guide you to all truth.” —John 16:13

“All depends on faith, everything is grace.” —Romans 4:16

“For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! plans to give you a future full of hope.” —Jeremiah 29:11

Don’t worry. Some priests are good speakers and others are good administrators etc… Just use your tallents to the best of your abilities.

I am praying for you …

A fear when speaking in-front of people is not unique and is actually quite common. This is known as glossophobia commonly. I would suggest a good tip is to practice in small quantities maybe just for 5-10 seconds at a time at social gatherings (maybe the church). Then also read self-help blog and motivation such as fear of public speaking in addition to regular.

Praying for you to overcome this. Toastmasters’ is a good group for people with this problem.
