I heard that in the past, there was a sanction against people who share/publish unapproved private revelations, without the permission of the Church, but that this rule later changed and now it’s allowed. (I’m talking about unapproved revelations but not ones that have been officially condemned, because that is another question!)

Does anyone have a source for this?? and is it true?

thanks!

Pope Paul VI, October 14, 1966, approved the abolition of former Canons 1399 & 2318, thus allowing publications about new appearances, revelations, prophecies, or miracles to be distributed without express permission of the Church, providing they do not claim or promote anything that contravenes faith and morals. No Imprimatur is necessary regarding distribution of information on new apparitions not yet approved by the Church. Caution and judgement is to be expected.

(However as we know, discussions of such new appearances, revelations, prophecies, miracles are not permitted in the forums.)

I’m curious too, since the Stickies for these forums prohibit promotion of them, but do not prohibit discussion of them.
