Other than going to hell when one dies, what are some examples of punishment for sins of lust? While one is alive here on earth what types of punishments can they have happen to them?

One of the less obvious ones is the result of the selfishness and self-centeredness which is engendered by lust. It acts to cut an individual off from others, particularly those one lusts after (generally, a person of the opposite sex) as it makes the other into an object. One of the things that we naturally seek and crave is human contact. By raising lust over respect for another - raising disrespect over respect - one is removed from real human contact as one has dehunmanized the other, and put up a barrier to true contact and true exchange with another. That leads to isolation, which tends to lead to a spiral of futher withdrawl from others.

All of which leads to a great deal of unhappiness, to put it politely; I dislike the word “unhappiness”, but can’t think of anything stronger at the moment. The resulting attitude is certainly strong.

Thank you, that makes sense. Any more examples?
Lust is NEVER fulfilled. It leads to a constant yearning for something more, and can never be satisfied. It is an empty deception that can lead to anger and depression, as well as increased frustration in life.

God uses the very things by which we sin to punish us. Wisdom chapter 11, especially verse 16.

Examples - the Egyptians worshiped frogs & flies, the Nile river, and cattle, etc. So God turned the Nile to blood, killed the cattle, and plagues the Egyptians with an overflowing excess of frogs and flies (just prior to the exodus).

I’d guess that using the above as a guide, punishment for lust might be either having an overwhelming excess of it, or God kills it altogether…but that’s just a guess.
