Purgatory is a fable
Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So a man dies only once, then the judgment. If you are chosen of God, you are saved, if you are not, then you are dead. there is no middle. the word of God, which is the bible, is the law of God, IT IS OUR JUDGMENT EVERYDAY OF OUR LIVES. Live by the word, as the word judges you everyday. There is no secondary judgment, you die, then you are judged, good or bad, up or down. How in the world, can a dead man, with a little bit of sin, able to purge his own sin after the death. If he couldn’t do it alive, then the wages of sin is death, too late. if he couldnt do it alive, then it is appointed to that man to die only once and THE JUDGMENT. the judgment is not put on hold, it is not modified, it is not going to wait for you.
The wages of sin is death, if you die, and you are unsaved, then you are dead, if you die and you are chosen of God, then you are saved, no middle ground.
when a person is saved, they have a new resurrected soul, and the stain of original sin is justified, however your body is still sin cursed, as we do not recieve a glorified body until the last day. So even a saved man, still struggles with the sin his body desires.
this sin, if you are chosen of God, is accounted for. ALL SIN, past present and future, are covered by the sacrifice of Jesus, in which case that is all you need, as He did all the work, and you are saved. you go to heaven, your sin is already accounted for, no middle ground, we are not saved by our work, and purgatory is simply a place to work of sin, it is a fable, it is a comfort to those who would not search the scripture for themselves.
if you die unsaved, without recieving a new resurrected soul, then nothing you do will fix that, you cannot contribute to Gods work, you can’t accept Gods work, you can’t take a giant step towards salvation, you can’t do anything nice enough. YOU MUST NOT TRUST IN WHAT YOU DO, DO NOT TRUST IS ANYTHING YOU DO TO GET YOU SAVED!!. That is not being a child of God, that is contrary to the bible, purgatory itself implies that YOU CAN purge your final sins before entering heaven. HOW CAN YOU PURGE SIN, YOUR DEAD. THE DEAD DO NOT HAVE THAT POWER.
and the wages of sin is death, and it appointed to man to die once and then the judgment.
comparing scripture to scripture gives a clear picture.
Purgatory is comforting fable. It leads you to believe that not all hope is lost, well then that is your faith, and as we learn in Hebrews 11:1
(King James Version)
Hebrews 11
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
your faith has substance, substance implies work, and we are not saved by our work, your faith in purgatory means absolutely nothing, it is a fable for those who would be comforted because they are in fear of the truth.
If you want the answer, look at this passage and compare them:
Galatians 2:16 (King James Version)
16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith **of **Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith **of **Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
compare this verse from the KJ to that of any other bible, it is mistranslated to read,
by the faith IN Christ,
which implies that simply by believin in christ, you are saved, but that is work because it has substance, and substance implies energy is expelled, and expelled energy is work.
It is by the faith OF Christ, which is a whole nother ballgame all together.
To conclude, one of the most widely misunderstood teachings is works and works of the law.
DO NOT DISTINGUISH.
ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN, THAT YOU DO, IS CALLED WORK.
anything under the sun. I think that encompasses pretty much all the definitions people will throw around trying to be geniouses and justify themselves
all work under the sun is of no avail, it is fleshly, it is you, and you are nothing.
Now the answer, which is much more difficult to distinguish, is that when you become saved, which is totally the work of God, then as a RESULT…
get that, as a RESULT RESULT RESULT RESULT RESULT, of becoming a saved man, THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN, you produce good works.
by the faith of Christ in you, do you produce those works which are considered good.
god bless.
