I read that Purgatory will no longer exist after the Last Judgment. What happens to those souls who, at the Last Judgment, still carry the need for temporal expiation of their sins?

There won’t be any. Purgatory itself is not a ‘temporal’ place per se. God will arrange matters so that if there are any sinners in the ‘last days’ they will be purified before the Judgment. Then there will be only two destinations at the Judgment as all in Purgatory will be purified, all already in Heaven will be purified, and all who died in the last days who accept God will have been purified either through purgatory or in some way God has chosen. (It could be, perhaps, that the last days of earth will have the earth consumed in flames. Those alive at the time could wind up burning to death and THOSE flames and agony might be the only necessary purification needed, for example.) And all in hell–will remain where they have freely chosen to be.

That makes sense, thank you. Although, its a little frightening to think about. :o
