If you do not have to go to purgatory does that automatically make you a saint?

Yes, unless you go to hell instead.

Purgatory is the middle between heaven and hell. What we see as ghosts of those who have died on earth, is purgatory. So if your not stuck in purgatory, trapped on this earth then you only have two other options. Heaven or hell.

Everyone in Heaven is a saint and those in Purgatory will also be saints when they move from there to Heaven. If you do not have to go to purgatory does that automatically make you a saint?

Not everybody in Purgatory is seen as a ghost ( if ghosts are true at all).Purgatory is the middle between heaven and hell. What we see as ghosts of those who have died on earth, is purgatory. So if your not stuck in purgatory, trapped on this earth then you only have two other options. Heaven or hell.
But ISTM everybody who is not a Saint or Martyr, either gets Purgatory, or goes to Hell.
