One example Jesus taught was that even to look (with the eyes) with lust at a woman was wrong.
Do you know of other examples of Jesus and the Saints who wrote about purifying the body and senses?
the eyes
the ears
touch
the mouth (speaking)
the mouth (consumption of food and drink)
movement of the limbs (posture, bearing…)
…etc

Matthew 15:
10 And having called together the multitudes unto him, he said to them: Hear ye and understand. 11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man: but what cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

15 And Peter answering, said to him: Expound to us this parable. 16 But he said: Are you also yet without understanding? 17 Do you not understand, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the privy? 18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and those things defile a man. 19 For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies. 20 These are the things that defile a man. But to eat with unwashed hands doth not defile a man.

Remember when the apostles returned to Jesus upon failing to exorcise a demon ? Christ told them “Some demons can only be driven out through fasting and prayer”.

“Train yourself in godliness; 8 for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” I Tim 4

1 Timothy 6:11 [ The Good Fight of Faith ] But as for you, man of God, shun all this; aim at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

2 Peter 1:3 [ The Christian’s Call and Election ] His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,

We are to strive for holiness/godliness.
