I am just raising the issue of the mission of CAF, and trying to make people aware of how CAF comes across to me. I realise that my comments will likely fall on barren ground in most cases
This all sounds like more of an issue for you, not an issue of the mission of CAF. I suggest less talking, more listening, and go look at your own reflection in the mirror for starters …otherwise you come across as a …:crying:.

and you don’t consider yourself part of the problem?
I take you’re not a Christian from that response - are you a Satanist or similar?

I wouldn’t let people’s opinions deter you from your journey because they are just that…opinions. Please don’t let that discourage you. Sure I’ve found some replies on CAF rather upsetting at times but also realize that although they are not trying to be mean spirited they are going by misinformation & misunderstandings.

Have you gone around the CA site to also help answer your questions? I found many of the tracts & This Rock articles very informative. There are a lot of very informative Catholic sites out there & I find new ones practically every day.

Again, don’t let some uninformed remarks get you down:console:
TY sister for your Christian charity
I thank God for all my mentors which have shown me encouragement and pray for them every day

I don’t have a problem with these CAF, or for that matter accepting and explicating the truths of the Catholic faith.

Again, there is a time and place for taking the cotton out of the ears and putting it into the mouth, i.e., a time to quiet the clamoring from within, and humbly listening to the wisdom and truth that comes from without.

when I hear wisdom and truth I will let you know:thumbsup:
TY for the, er, profound insights:confused:

What is this thread about ? :juggle:
I think the original post was a flamer, Eireann. What do you think? We might still be able to discuss the various purposes of CAF notwithstanding the attempts to flame.

Personally, I learn quite a lot from some posters. Church history, Church teaching, apologetics, different faiths, logic. I also appreciate the links that people provide; many of those links are in my bookmarks now. I have gotten to know several posters; am used to them; think of them as my internet neighbourhood.

Well Jack is in RCIA, and we have a diversity of opinion here, some I like some I don’t, and I’m sure some don’t like my opinion, thats too bad, they’re getting it anyway. 😃

We have moderators here and if someone doesn’t like what someone else says they can hit the red warning triangle.

There is a lot to learn here, and the subjects have been trashed, but loads of people haven’t seen them.

If someone flames a thread and they get an unwanted response what do they want ? if I don’t agree with something, I’m hardly going to post up that I do.

The Catholic Answers Forums (CAF) exists to provide a community for Catholics and non-Catholics of all levels of interest in and/or commitment to the Catholic Church to gather on the Internet for discussion in a safe and charitable environment. We do not require that members agree with the Catholic Church in order to participate; only that they remain charitable in their postings.

We feel that by allowing discussion of issues of concern for Catholics and non-Catholics, Catholic Answers is not endorsing those issues that are contrary to Church teachings but allowing members to discuss those issues amongst themselves. Any member confused on a point of Church doctrine is welcome to submit a question to the Ask an Apologist forum or to contact Catholic Answers directly.

This thread will now be closed. Thanks to all who participated in the discussion.
