I’m sure folks that watch my posts wonder when I put in a prayer request, and then on another post, make a joke. Humor is often how I register despair.

This week I was put on administrative leave. I cannot disclose the details because there is an investigation. In my line of work, allegations might possibly lead to criminal charges, but often don’t. But I am hoping that common sense will prevail. It is paid leave, but part of the agreement is that I have to stay at home during operational hours by the phone.

I think I know what the allegations are based on questions that were asked of me during the first part of the investigation, so when I was informed of the suspension, I did not ask what the formal charges were, I just wanted to get out of the building. Now all sorts of things are going through my mind.

I am in a constant near state of panic. I know it sounds crazy, but I am so uptight right now that even prayer is hard for me, so I am asking you to do that for me now.

That sound stressful as can be. Prayers said for relief from panic and that common sense will prevail so no criminal charges are necessary.

I will be praying for you.

At times where you cannot pray for yourself, as the Holy Spirit to pray on your behalf, and of course ask your Guardian Angel, all the Angels and Saints, the Holy Souls in Purgatory and Our Lady to pray for you.
 
Do you have an Adoration chapel nearby? I recommend going there this weekend and spending time with our LORD. Praying that all will be resolved.
 
Hugs and prayers from me. I’ll pray that this gets resolved quickly because I know this is weighing on you. Be at peace, God has you in the palm of His hand.

A friend of mine went through something similar at my school last year. Parents, the principal, even district administrators defended her in court – but the accusation had been made and the process had to go through all its steps.

This can be a hugely stressful time – if you can’t pray as usual, read through the Psalms. There are some beautiful Psalms of trust and comfort in times of distress. Even our Lord prayed a Psalm from the cross.

May God grant you peace. You are not alone!

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions.
