I would first like to start off by stating that I don’t know much about music especially chants. The usual way in which I identify a chant or hymn is solely by the lyrics. I don’t know how to describe the difference between two chants if they are the same prayer even though they might have two very distinct sounds.

On the 31st of May I was watching mass on FSSP’s livemass website and they had a rosary after mass in honor of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The majority of the rosary was recited in English but the first Hail Mary of each decade was recited in Latin. When they chanted it in Latin is sounded very familiar to me but I was completely unable to find a similar version on the internet. It’s probably the best chant of Ave Maria I have heard.

I would very much appreciate is some one could help me identify the version that they chant. It can be found at livemass(dot)net under “Warrington Sunday Mass” and can most clearly be heard at 1:31:02. Also I cut out just the chant and uploaded it to google drive to be easier to listen to but it says I cant post links.

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to CAF! 🙂
I went to that website site and could not find a video for Warrington Sunday Mass for 31st May, nor is it uploaded to either their youtube or vimeo channels, so unfortunately I can’t listen to the segment you are referring to.

What was the name of the file you saved the cutout section to on google drive? I am not sure, but may be able to search for it?

The video should be on the livemass website under locations then warrington Sunday mass. I just uploaded a short clip of it to youtube. You should be able to find it by searching " Ave Maria from FSSP Warrington Procession of The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary".
Thank you

Open the LOCATIONS tab.
Look for Warrinton Sunday Mass. I found it but the chant wasn’t familiar to me.

It was very beautiful. I emailed the FSSP priests in Warrington to ask them where one can find the sheet music.

If I hear anything from them, I’ll post it here.

Apologies - I have no idea why I didn’t get a notification that you (or the following posts) had posted a reply 🤔

Just listened to it on youtube - very beautiful as you know 🙂
But apart from that I’m not familiar with that particular version, sorry. Hopefully @phil19034 will come back with the info wanted … … as I’d like to know now too!

Seems almost rushed In delivery. I’m used to slower. As in:

My favorite so far. Complete gregorian chant rosary in Latin.
Dominus vobiscum

Thanks a lot. That’s probably what I should have done in the first place.
