I would first like to start off by stating that I don’t know much about music especially chants. The usual way in which I identify a chant or hymn is solely by the lyrics. I don’t know how to describe the difference between two chants if they are the same prayer even though they might have two very distinct sounds.
On the 31st of May I was watching mass on FSSP’s livemass website and they had a rosary after mass in honor of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The majority of the rosary was recited in English but the first Hail Mary of each decade was recited in Latin. When they chanted it in Latin is sounded very familiar to me but I was completely unable to find a similar version on the internet. It’s probably the best chant of Ave Maria I have heard.
I would very much appreciate is some one could help me identify the version that they chant. It can be found at livemass(dot)net under “Warrington Sunday Mass” and can most clearly be heard at 1:31:02. Also I cut out just the chant and uploaded it to google drive to be easier to listen to but it says I cant post links.
Thanks in advance!
