Question about an Italian priest

I’ve just read a report on a Brazilian news website saying that a Catholic priest called Luca de Pero, who lives in Cesena, converted into protestantism and was censured by the Church because he took a protestant minister called Fabiano Nicodemo to preach at his parish. The report says this caused other people at de Pero’s church to convert. Allegedly, he was expelled from the church because of his conversion. Can someone confirm this story? A catholic member of a Brazilian message board I participate in, called Porissocri Gospel Forum, asked me about it, but I don’t have more information about it than what I’ve read in the news report.

Yes, this apparently happened. Bishop Luigi Negri has posted a statement, dated August 29th, at the website of the Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro.

The statement is in Italian, which I don’t speak. However, online translators are available.

Well, considering I live in Brazil and the case happened in Cesena, Italy, I wouldn’t know how to contact the bishop in that region to confirm the story. I don’t even know if the bishop would want to talk about it with a total stranger from the other side of the world. All the links I had about this case were in Portuguese. Considering the last thread I posted on the board with links in Portuguese was closed by the moderators, I didn’t want this thread to be closed either.

But Dale_M was kind enough to give the link of the Diocese of San Marino, that apparently confirms the story I described in my opening post. So, thank you for the help, Dale_M. I’ll give the link to my college in the other message board.
