Question About Asking for a Specific Blessing After Mass

I know that the entire congregation receives a blessing towards the end of mass, but lately I’ve noticed that people often ask the priest for another blessing after mass. I presume the person asks; it’s either that or the priest offers to bless them himself. Assuming the former, what kind of blessings do these people usually ask for? Health? Discernment? Employment? Would it be proper to ask a priest for a blessing that you perform to the best of your abilities on an exam?

From my own personal experience there are many reasons for a blessing after mass. I travel often with my daughter and if the priest or deacon know i will be out of town the following weekend they will give me a blessing for safe travel. Another example is if they know I’m going through something difficult, they may give me a blessing for guidance. But after each mass the deacon always gives my daughter a blessing…regardless!
