Question About Baptism (administrative fee?)

I was wondering but I have read that many Catholic parishes require that an administrative fee around like $20 - $60 be paid in order for an infant to be baptized. If one cannot afford the fee and if the fee presents a financial burden or hardship, then would that be a valid reason or excuse never to have your newborn baby baptized or to delay baptizing the newborn baby until enough money can be saved to cover the fee or fees?

NO. Parents have A serious obligation to baptize their child within the first few weeks of birth.

Any administrative fee for baptismal classes can all be waived and the customary stipend is always optional. Talk to your pastor.

Totally agree with the poster above.
The Church waves those if financial issues are present.
Sacraments are way to important to delay them because of those issues.

Also please keep in mind that it is the faithful that through these suggested stipends take care of their priests. Its not a “fee” for a service.
