Question about baptism and mortal sin

We are told that when we are baptized that one of the effect is the the holy Trinity comes and takes up abode within us.

Do they continue abiding in us if we are in a state of mortal sin?
You often here that to look at another is to look upon the face of Jesus, but is that true if we are in a state of mortal sin??

The answer here is theologically nuanced, I would suggest the OP speak with their priest who has had years more post grad theology study than the general population.

It is possible to sever one’s relationship with God, it is not possible to remove the indelible mark of Baptism. Outside of those two facts, I do not worry about it.
 
It is also wise to speak to a priest about the second half of baptism (the holy sacrament of confirmation). The effects spiritually are profound!
