I am looking a new Rosary to carry in my pocket everywhere I go (in a rosary pouch) would this one be a good one for that? ewtnreligiouscatalogue.com/OLIVE+WOOD+ROSARY+BROWN+CORD/cid=433/page_no=1/edp_no=9950/shop.axd/ProductDetails
The biggest problem you face when carrying a rosary in your pocket is that the threads in the pocket catch on the chain links and when you whip it out the links are openned, then the rosary breaks and the beads come apart. That is why a pouch is important for a rosary that lives in a pocket. A cord roasary like the one in the picture won’t catch on threads and so you probably would not need a pouch.

Personally, I prefer chain rosaries, so even keeping them in my purse I need a pouch.

It is a good looking rosary and the price is decent too.

I have this metal rosary… it has 10 bumps around it and has a small cross sticking out of it and The Blessed Virgin in the middle. It fits in your palm… I am not sure what it is called but it is very heavy duty, can fit in a wallet or pocket, and it’s always there with me 🙂
“Brass knuckles for Catholics…” 😛

I have one of those, too—but in plastic.

As a member of the Knights of Columbus we are highly “encouraged” to keep a Rosary on our person at all times. I don’t know for certain if this is an actual requirement, but I keep one with me none the less. I have found the simple cord rosary with no actual beads (knots are made to use as beads) to be the easiest to keep in my pocket. I have gotten to the point that if I forget it, I don’t feel comfortable. These don’t cost much and you can buy a few at a time in case you loose one.

I like to have a couple sets, especially to keep in the car. that is the only time i think I can really do it without being bothered. My Dad gave my husband the round medal one. Also another idea if you like to do it in the car, when my daughter was going to classed for marriage they gave her the Rosary on a Cd. She now says it every morning going to work, alone in the car. i think thats awesome. Now that folks is what you call a miracle.

Funny story…true story…

I kept my rosary very close to me last week (was dealing with a very scary situation), didn’t have a pocket in my pants, and wasn’t sure if I was going to take my purse to the cemetery with me. So, I wore my rosary like a necklace (don’t really like to do that, but felt I had no other choice.) I didn’t realize I had been out in the sun for 2 hours. When I got home I found my chest had a sun burn…and a white line for the rosary chain…and a white oval where the rosary center was…

I’ve been branded by my rosary… :bigyikes::blushing:
