I just thought of something that I couldn’t find the answer to: (mods feel free to move because I don’t know where this goes)

Was the Blessed Sacrament ever carried into battle with the military of a Catholic nation, as part of the officers regiment (either on foot or on cavalry)? I know there were priests and deacons that fought in the Crusades and the Cross was certainly a symbol carried into battle, but was the Blessed Sacrament ever carried, not as a weapon, but as a material Presence of God in that battle?

It seems…strange, I know, but it just came to mind and I’m curious to know…thanks!
