Question about Church precepts

I read this online in a list of precepts of the Church,

“To receive Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist at least once a year during Easter Season.”

I was wondering, what is the Easter season? is it till Pentecost? So does this mean we are to receive Communion at least once a year from Easter to Pentecost? it also says to go to Confession once a year as well (of course, that is the very minimum).

Just checking my understanding 🙂

Yes. You have several weeks to meet the minimum obligation.

 
Easter Season Communion precept requirement is from…Easter Vigil Mass through Trinity Sunday Mass…but U.S. Catholics have an indult–this obligation can be satisfied from First Sunday of Lent through Trinity Sunday.

3. “You shall receive the sacrament of the Eucharist at least during the Easter season.” The third precept guarantees as a minimum the reception of the Lord’s Body and Blood in connection with the Paschal feasts, the origin and center of the Christian liturgy. (The United States has an indult that allows this to be satisfied from the First Sunday of Lent to Trinity Sunday.)

PS The one precept that is no longer listed as a precept but still a requirement…marriage has to be in accordance with Church Canon Law…or must have Bishop’s approval if outside Canon Norms.
 
I had no idea the US had an indult about the Easter Season Communion reception thing. To be honest, that makes it too easy on some people to go during Lent 1 or 2 times then not go to Mass & receive during the Easter season.

Just another question, what is Trinity Sunday?
 
The indult was initially given for the U.S. because of the difficulty many had in getting to church. My father grew up on a farm that was 15 miles from the nearest church. Transportation was by horse and buggy. A herd of dairy cows and a flock of laying hens had to be cared for before one left for church. All with a fast from mid-night.

60 years ago I lived on an island for two years. There was no mass on the island except for the summer months. To get to mass on the mainland one had to take the ferry to shore the day before and stay overnight on the mainland. We only went once a month, did our grocery shopping, and stayed overnight at my grandparents.
