Question about Communion

If I am not sure that I am in the state of grace, would it be a sin if I received Communion?

Recollection and meditation is in order. When in doubt, skip Communion or seek Confession ASAP. Discuss your concerns with your Confessor and he will tell you if you did commit mortal sin or not. Even if its venial, its worth confessing.

If you have committed a mortal sin, you should not receive the Eucharist.

If you are not ‘sure’ you committed a mortal sin, you likely didn’t. But, if you suffer from scrupulosity please talk to your priest.
