Certainly the Church, run by celibate men, has very little insight into such personal and private matters.
Celibacy was fairly uncommon when the Church first developed her teaching on contraception. The fact that we have since changed to a celibate clergy does not negate the teaching first given by mostly married clergy.

Where in the Bible is birth control forbidden, even mentioned?
The term “birth control” did not exist at the time the Bible was written. However, there is some evidence that “potions” and “sorcery” (both forbidden in Paul’s letters) were euphemisms at Biblical times for various contraceptive methods.

Also, Jesus warns us directly against multiple broad sexual sins that are easy to demonstrate as including contraception.

And where in the Bible does the Bible claim to be an all-inclusive list of “rules”? For that matter, where does the Bible identify which books should be contained within it?

Where in the Bible is the individual believer identified as its authentic interpreter?
