Question about confession (really short)

In confession, are you supposed to make the sign of the cross over yourself when the priest gives you the final blessing? or are you not supposed to, 'cause he’s blessing you, you’re not blessing yourself like you would before saying grace or something?

because we make the sign of the cross as a community when the priest blesses the congregation at the start of MASS and before sending us out to live the Good News proclaimed during the MASS…

but are we supposed to during confession? make the sign of the cross over ourselves when the priest blesses us?

making the sign of the cross while you are receiving absolution is optional. In some parishes, while the priest recites the words of absolution over you, the penitent says an act of contrition, so it is really up to you whether or not you bless yourself.
