I was wondering if someone does a good examination of conscience and goes to confession , and is absolved of their sins, and later on they remember a sin from a long time ago that that didnt come to them while examining their conscience, are they absolved of that sin too since the preist absolved them of all sins? Or do they need to confess that sin the next time they are in the confessional?

It’s absolved, but if it was a mortal sin you should mention it at your next Confession.

It is absolved, but as stated, one should remember it at their next confession -especially if it was a mortal sin. I add at the end of my confession: “and for those sins that do not come to my memory right now, I am heartfully sorry.”

God Bless!

It’s absolved indirectly, but if one remembers it, and it’s a mortal sin, they’re required to confess it, do it can be submitted to the keys and absolved directly.

PS: I really wish we could get a sticky answer to this question.
