I’m going to try and explain my situation. My husband and I are both teachers. I’ve been on leave for almost 3 years taking care of my first born son and newborn daughter. I know that teaching has been a ministry Jesus led me to…still feel this way, but also know my role as a mother is incredibly important as well…of course a gift from God. Financially, I can’t afford to stay home anymore
We need my income—my husband’s income isn’t enough. We have a small house, cheap cars, only buy what is necessary, etc… So we are not overspending. Anyway, going back to work in the fall is going to break my heart, especially because my daughter will only be 7 months old.
I’ve been praying, asking Him what to do. I have faith that Jesus will lead me in the right direction—which right now looks like teaching in the fall. Is it possible He would rather me go to work than to stay home? I’ll be home by 2:30pm everyday, but it still seems like a long time to leave my kids. Eventhough it is going to be hard, I have an incredibly strong feeling to teach—which has been placed in my heart through the Holy Spirit in my opinion. It has always been this way, since I was like 5 years old, and just gets stronger as I get older. He has always opened doors for me in teaching and made things work out. Also, the Holy Spirit takes over when I teach, and I know it and feel it. How do I discern whether these feelings are from God or if they are selfish??? I’m confused and could use some advice…thank you!
