I have a difficulty understanding the following part of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy:
  1. The Eternal Father
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

What does this mean – how can I offer God the Body and Blood of Jesus? If anyone can, a priest can. I suppose I can participate in some small way. Overall, though, I don’t “get it”, and I avoid the chaplet of Divine Mercy for this reason.

Can anyone maybe re-frame this for me, or give me a different perspective?
Thanks for any guidance or thoughts!
