I was wondering, do Catholics have a moral obligation to either support or oppose the military policy “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” the way we have a moral obligation to oppose abortion and same-sex marriage? If so, could you please explain why? I know DADT is old news here in the US, and I’ve been discussing the issue with people who supported the repealing of the policy. I understand their points, and I want to know what the Catholic take on the issue is.
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I searched and couldn’t seem to find any recent threads about it.
Thanks!
