Hello,

In the Episcopal Church, our Eucharistic Prayer B contained a petition for God the Father to “In the fullness of time, put all things in subjection under your Christ…" which is a reference to Hebrews 2:8.

I can’t remember if I’ve heard this petition in a Eucharistic Prayer in a Catholic Church, and I can’t get Google to tell me if this is contained in any of the Eucharistic Prayers in the OF of the Latin Rite. Does anyone know if the Catholic Church uses this petition in any of its Eucharistic Prayers?

Also, does anyone have any commentary or anything to add about the theological content of this particular petition?

Thanks in advance.

No, it is not, although both the (Epis.)Prayer B and (Cath.) Eucharistic Prayer II were inspired by the same source text (the Anaphora of Hippolytus)
