Question about First Satudays

I have attended Saturday Mass for the past two months as part of the Five First Saturdays devotion. This Saturday I promised to attend my little cousin’s birthday party. I don’t want to break the consecutive devotion, but I also don’t want to disappoint my family. What should I do? Would I fulfill the devotion by going to Saturday Mass next week?
 
No, you wouldn’t be fulfilling it by doing it next week. You’d have to start again from the beginning. Is there only one Mass available to you on Saturday? Could you not attend her party before or after Mass?
 
Luckily I’ve found that my parish offers Mass at 8 AM. So I’ll just have to go to bed early Friday night
 
Good for you. I wanted to do First Friday today and in the city where I am I had to really look to find something early enough because all the Masses seem to start at 9 am which is too late for my schedule today. But I finally found a 6:45 am. Awfully early for me, but I did it.
