Question about forgiveness of sins.

I have a question abut forgiveness of sins. In my situation I cannot go to confession or attend a Catholic church because of my mother’s restrictions. (But I am planning on becoming Catholic when older) I want to convert to Catholicism. If I commit a mortal sin or venial sin what should I do? I can’t go to confession. I usually ask Jesus to forgive me, say an act of contrition, and then try to repair what I have done. But sometimes it feels like it’s not enough

I have started to sin less often after praying to Rosary everyday. It used to be a sin every 2 days. But now I recorded what I did and found out I only sin every 7-9 days… I know that a protestant would tell me to just pray and it’s done with… But I don’t feel right. I want to do the best I can, and when I’m older I want to enter the Church… Can someone please answer?

Pray for the Holy Spirit for light (just “come, Holy Spirit” is enough)
Review the events of the day
give thanks for blessings
forgive anyone who has wronged you–simply say the words, “I forgive X”
ask God’s forgiveness for anything you have done wrong, from a real sin to a simple mistake or lapse in charity–this pray is an Act of Contrition–it can be a formal prayer from a book or in your own words
Make a resolution for tomorrow–a specific promise to do better in one area
not: I want to be a better person
but: “tomorrow, I will not talk back to my parents but will obey graciously and willingly without grumbling”
Pray the Our Father
sleep in peace

Thank you so much. I’ll write this down I ask for forgiveness if I sin, but I was afraid if some freak accident happened I would end up in hell or in purgatory for a long time.

Among other things in the rich deposit of faith there is a teaching called “baptism of desire.” Our Lord knows and honors what is in your heart, and would not condemn you under the circumstances you fear.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is the ordinary means the Lord has provided for His people to be restored to grace (if they fall out of grace after Baptism . . .). It does not, however, restrict His ability to act.
