Question about Fridays in Lent

I know we need to abstain from meet on Fridays in Lent due to it being a penitential day. But is it a sin to do something fun? To go to a game or a party or go to a movie? Or are we only obligated to abstain from meet?
 
Every Friday is a day of penitence for Christians in memory of Our Lord’s Crucifixion on that day. There is no Church teaching against recreation on Fridays. The most penitential day of the Christian year is Good Friday. Christians should not schedule a party or celebration on Good Friday.
