Question about "full knowledge and deliberate consent" for mortal sin

I’m confused that the church teaches that no one can commit a mortal sin unless the person knows it’s a mortal sin and then goes ahead and commits the sin anyway with full consent.

If that’s the case, then why was St. Teresa of Avila shown her place in hell by the Lord… when she said she never committed a mortal sin and can’t recall any time in her life when she did (intentionally)?

This has caused me alot of worry because I feel like I could be damned even if I have no mortal sins on my soul that I know of.

she was shown her place in hell, but not because she risked going there,
we all are deserving of hell for the least of our sins, but that doesn’t mean we will go there, if you do not have a mortal sin on your soul, then you won’t go to hell.

while we have been told we can earn heaven, we by no means deserve it, God only offers it to us out of His love and mercy, and we must be very thankful and humble for that reason,

and the idea of showing Saint Teresa her place in hell wasn’t to make her acknowledge her great wretchedness, but instead to impress on her Gods great love and mercy for her, and for all of us,
by our sins we earn hell, and by doing good and loving God we earn heaven, so while we all have a place prepared for us in hell, we also have a place prepared for us in heaven, so don’t let it upset you so much,
we are capable of doing good and bad, and we must be very thankful that God is so patient and forgiving with us, He rewards our good far more than He punishes our bad, and that should make us feel very blessed.

so just don’t worry, as long as you’re not committing any mortal sins, then you’re ok, and even if you do slip up and commit a mortal sin, you still have confession, so just keep trying, God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, He understands your weakness more than you do, and He is not disappointed with you when you are trying.

Maybe Jesus showed her her place in hell because it is possible for even the saints to fall into hell if they don’t persevere…or maybe because of her earlier days lived in a certain degree of worldliness. I’d have to read the passage you speak of within context to really be able to make an intelligent comment though. But one could say that we all have a place in heaven and hell waiting for us, and that we determine where we will go at the end of our lives by the way we choose to live our lives in the present.
