Maybe everyone who’s even been in a divorce, or masturbated, or used birth control, or sinned in any way, should we all remove it from our profiles? Every single one?

There wouldn’t be very many left./QUOTE

If you deny the teachings of the Church about any of these matters, or if you do not think these practices sinful, you have an attitude that appeared in the early Church and was condemned by Paul. Christians are not “above” the Law; Jewish moral principle, if not superceded by more strict Christian ones, as opposed to Jewish “sacraments” are to be retained.

Hmm…what is the truth? I don’t know, you don’t know, no one knows, we can only speculate.
Two other questions, Teen. When you’re in class with a professor, do you believe that what he/she’s teaching is merely speculation? Are things in your textbooks only speculation?

Sometimes, it depends on if it’s been proven or not by various tests and studies

Truth is.

The people who advise others to follow their hearts or conscience or whatever and not the teaching of the Holy Father, Bible and Cathechism are not Catholics. They’re club members who want to make the Catholic Church change to their needs instead of changing their lives to serve God.

My mother told me the Church is not a democracy where you get to vote on the rules. There is only one vote, if you are adult enough to make it, in or out. If you’re in, then shut up, buck up and abide by the rules. If you’re out, then have the stones to leave the guys who want to follow the rules in peace. If no churches fit your needs, then start your own.

Explain to me how it’s a legal nightmare. Denied health insurance?? I don’t believe that this is true. I have two children who are executives in large insurance companies & anyone can buy an insurance policy. The cost of same depends, of course, on the health of the person applying for a policy. .
I have been trying to get health insurance since I was 18. I cannot. They all deny me based on one of my pre-existing conditions. I have a stack of rejection letters 20 plans deep. The plans I do qualify for are so expensive they cost more than any payment structure I could negotiate with my doctors and hospitals making them entirely pointless, especially since they will deny almost everything I submit anyway as being related to the condition they refuse to cover.

I’ve filed for bankruptcy twice because of this already, I’m only 28.
I suspect that “pathia’s” complaint is based on a single case, and she is just repeating it here, ad nausium, as though it was the defining problem of sodomite life, and that one data point could describe a whole universe. I await her describing a patient who is incoherent and couldn’t give consent. .
I’ve already done that. This is my own case, it’s happened four times or so, maybe more, I lose track I’m in the hospital so much. My family comes in and does this when I am unconscious. They also switch my care to something I have expressively asked to not have done to my body. Which means I wake up with extreme allergic reactions to drugs I have repeatedly told my doctors I do not want.

Also, it is a large majority of this country that support same-sex rights in hospital situations, even catholics. My opinion is not a minority in any sense of the word.

Where do you live?

But no one has denied you because of your sexual orientation, right?

On the floor
You see? Truth is knowable. You just have to use right reason.

“Where are your sox?” is a famous question posed by Bishop Fulton Sheen on his TV program to illustrate how turning to reality to determine truth differs from the Communist way, which would be, “Wherever the Party says they are.”

For your response, “On the floor,” you turned to reality.

Now examine what you originally said, “We can only speculate.” If truth is unknowable, how can your statement claim to be true?

But no one has denied you because of your sexual orientation, right?
It depends on how you define that, they don’t ask if you’re hetero/homo/bisexual. They do however deny me based on my intersexed and transsexual conditions.

I have about 20 of these.

I have been denied medical care due to my sexual orientation and gender identity. When I lived on the east coast I had to drive 400miles or so to a person that was willing to be my primary care provider. That’s just for, you know, checkups, colds, things like that. No one local was willing to touch me due to various legal issues, or worries about their other clients freaking out at my presence (That happens alot) or just a general unease, not believing they can properly care for me. Thing is though, I’m still a person, my organs work the same as anyone else.

Do you understand why an automobile insurance company will not pay for pre-existing damage to a car? In case you have difficulty grasping why, IT’S BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD BUY AUTO INSURANCE UNTIL THEY HAD AN ACCIDENT.

Health insurance is no different. If they covered pre-existing conditions, why would anyone buy it if they were well? Why not just wait until you needed it ?
Also, it is a large majority of this country that support same-sex rights in hospital situations, even catholics. My opinion is not a minority in any sense of the word.
Yes it is. Suppose we worded the polled question slightley differently: “Should the family of a hospital patient [who can’t speak for himself] have the right to limit who visits him?”

I see. So I was supposed to buy coverage when I was still in the womb? This is a congenital condition, I have no choice in the matter. I’ve had it since I was conceived.

I think the family should have rights of course. I also think a partner should have rights. Neither should be able to throw either out.

Well…they can if they have a surrogate mother or get a sperm donation:shrug:
You’ll note that in my post I said, “families that will be a benefit to society”. I, personally believe that children raised by two Fathers or two Mothers are going to need a lot of** help **from society…

Really, I recently read a study that said otherwise(i’l see if I can find it) and that they are every bit as normal and as successful as those with straight parents.

Look, I personally know two people [both women] who are uninsurable but got life-saving surgery FREE, paid for by the state. There’s more to your sob-story than you are telling us.

Thanks for making my point that your will to power should win over their authority.

No, there’s not more. I already said it, several times. I’m intersexed and a transsexual. That’s the ‘more to the sob-story’
Thanks for making my point that your will to power should win over their authority.
So I should not have the right to dictate my desires in medical situations? The rights of my family trump my own personal rights of self determination? You seem to be forgetting that not everyone is on good terms with their family. What if the family was abusive? Would their rights be supreme, even when they’re abusive?

So were you insured prior to age 18?
