Question about Generational Curses?Help!

Well I read about it here greatbiblestudy.com/generational_curses.php, let me start up saying my grandpa was a high degree mason, he reject the holy spirit till death and didn’t believe in the Holy Father, will my grandpa’s actions effect me?I love the Holy Father and Lord Jesus Christ, I have changed my evil ways almost a 90%, I really hope my grandpa’s horrible and atrocious action’s and disrespect to the Holy Father won’t affect me, he’s life revolved around millions of dollars and women, I DON’T WANT THAT, I want to be humble and good and serve the Holy Father and Lord Jesus Christ till death and beyond…

This article is a terrible mess full of bad theology such as “Some common symptoms of generational curses are family illnesses that seem to just walk from one person down to the next (cancer is a common physical manifestation of a spiritual bondage).” Please don’t trouble yourself with that website. Get yourself some good Catholic reading materials.

Your grandpa’s choices do affect you, not because he’s given you some kind of demon but because you’re descended from him and you’ve grown up in his family. How his choices affect you will depend on your own choices. You could, for example, choose not to make the choices your grandpa did. As a matter of fact, it sounds like you are making different choices:

Whatever about the Old Covenant, with curses to the 7th generation: that was dissolved in the New Covenant.
In Christ all things are New.
In baptism you are washed clean.
You are NOT subject to the guilt of your fathers.

A very quick google search brought up many websites which will show you links to these things. - But I would suggest looking in the Catechism and/or YouCat.
This teaches taht each person is responsible for His own salvation. It is up to you to accept or reject the Redemption that has been paid and the salvation taht is being offered.

I tend to think passages like “visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children” are primarily referring to the fact that many of our choices have consequences for future generations. If I worship idols today, the kids who look to me for guidance will have my bad example to contend with when they make their own choices, and perhaps few or no good examples on which to base good choices. If I dump toxic waste in the river now, future generations will have to live with a trashed river. Our good choices also have consequences for future generations. Mother Teresa strove to live charitably, for example, and she has set a great example for in word and deed, an example that will shine for many generations to come.

You have free will. That means that no matter what your ancestors did or believed, YOU can do it differently. You can choose Christ no matter what your family has done in the past. Don’t worry about “curses”. You have been given free will to live your life the way you choose to. Choose to follow Christ in everything and don’t worry about what people chose generations ago except to pray for their souls.
