Everyone has heard the saying “Trust your Gut! It will never lie to you!” Well, what exactly is intuition?

For example: If you never had a feeling that your husband cheated on you before but then caught him in several lies about going to strip clubs and you start to question everything from your past. You start imagining things he has done. You say to yourself: If he lied about the strip clubs and lap dances, what else did he lie about? Is this intuition or is this being paranoid?

I thought intuition was when you had a feeling that your husband was cheating on you but you couldn’t prove it. Your gut was telling you something was wrong. What about if you don’t have this feeling until “after” finding out about a betrayal or lie? Is it still intuition? Can fear of the unknown make you paranoid? Can it make you doubt your relationship?

I am beginning to believe this is what is happening in my relationship. After finding out my husband has lied to me about going to strip clubs and getting lap dances, I am doubting our entire marriage? I am questioning if he truly loves me? I am wondering what else he has lied about? I am picturing him cheating on me. I don’t know what to believe anymore. I don’t know what the truth is. Lies are so hurtful and damaging to a relationship. I wish my husband thought about my feelings before telling me a bunch of lies over and over again.

Well, I wouldn’t trust my gut or intuition as sometimes we get a little paranoid. I would wait for clear and undeniable evidence of cheating or lies. We can assume, but assumptions are not always right. Will pray for your guidance in this matter.

Prayer for a married couple

O God, we want to live our life together with you and always to continue it with you.
Help us never to hurt and never to grieve each other.
Help us to share all our works, all our hopes, all our dreams, all our successes, all our failures, all our joys and all our sorrows.
Help us to have no secrets from each other so that we may be truly one.
Keep us always true to each other, and grant that all the years ahead may draw us ever closer to each other.
Grant that nothing may ever come between us and nothing may ever make us ever drift apart.
And as we live with each other, help us to live with you, so that our love may grow perfect in your love,
for you are the God whose name is love. This we ask for your love’s sake. Amen
