Just received this question and need help answering.

if Jesus died for our sins, then why does it matter what we do?

Jesus died to take away our sins. We are not supposed to sin any longer.

Jesus’ death is not a license to sin or a license to commit evil.

Jesus’ dying for our sin was to make it possible for us to go to heaven. Before, it wasn’t possible due to the fall of Adam and Eve and the advent of original sin plus our own sins on top of that!

However, ONE of the keys is our belief in Christ. He can’t act as our sacrifice, and advocate if we refuse to even believe in him!

Also, Matthew 16:16 biblehub.com/mark/16-16.htm

New American Standard Bible
"He who has believed and has been** baptized** shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

Yes, Jesus died for our Sins, he opens the way for us into the kingdom of heaven. Now it is up to us to accept or reject this great salvation. We if act against the commandments of the Lord, then we are rejecting the Lord that died for us, and consequently salvation.
