Question about Job Searching for DH

Yay!
Update:

DH has an interview scheduled at the end of the month for this job. He was basically guaranteed an interview when he did eventually speak with the supervisor, who thinks very highly of him, but still, it’s very nice to actually have it scheduled and know he’s made it past the first cut. 😛 One possible issue is that there are several people “in house” who have also applied, who understandably would also get a lot of consideration.

Your continued prayers are really appreciated!! I’m hard at work with a 54 day novena, but otherwise still trying to stay hands-off. :o

I think that praying is the best thing you could do. One piece of advice (which I know you did not ask for): As a person who struggles to get a better job, there is NOTHING more annoying than being told what to do by someone who themselves don’t have to do it. I know you are a married couple that needs to discuss things…nonetheless, it is really easy to give an opinion. Put yourself in DH’s shoes, he is the one doing it and he needs the vote of confidence he is doing his best (especially from you) even if he does not get the job

This.

I hope he gets it!!!
Me too!!! 😃

Interview was this morning. 10 minute drive from our house (wow). It went very well - he was praised for all the work he’s done at his current job (including things that don’t go on the resume). He was a bit surprised by a few of the questions because they related more to his current position than the one he’s applying for (related field but not exactly the same), but he got to show off some of his expertise which can’t hurt. 😛

He’s one of nine that are being interviewed. There will be a second round of interviews and then they hope to make a decision by the end of September.

So we’ll see! I know he did the best he could.

That sounds very good. My wife interviewed and got a job outside of her field recently. They asked questions about her former field because they wanted that type of experience in the new position. So questions about his current job are very good!

great!

He didn’t get it. 😦 (Which we kind of expected because he hadn’t heard anything, but it was “official” today.)

Ah well. There are some other things popping up, and in January there will likely be a lot of positions that open up. (The concern is that his may be one of them, which is not at all ideal, but we’ll see what happens.)
