thetazlord:
And if 0% of the OT Scriptures says anything about water baptismal salvation. If not, then please provide ONE OT Scripture that talks about water baptism salvation - not ritual cleansing, but water baptismal salvation. If you can’t, then they don’t support “REAL Baptism.”
I will thetazlord. Later when I get to a keyboard (away from an android tablet).
I’ll not only show you Old Testament verses and themes of water and the Spirit, (incidentally, REAL water), but I’ll also show WHY the ancient Jews knew there was REAL water involved in Messianic New Testament Baptism which fulfilled Old Testament prophecies. I will show all these things thereby dismantling your whole house of cards argument of the Old Testament water prophecies being merely “figurative” in the mind of thetazlord, therefore New Testament water fulfillments must also be “figurative.”.
And this routine of yours that you intimated, about Old Testament Saints, receiving an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, in the SAME WAY as New Testament Saints is also hogwash.
HOW did they get this outpouring? Just standing around one day and it came?
When I asked you to get specific on this you balked. I asked you several times if they ask Jesus into their heart, and you said no, but refused to say what they DO carry out to receive an “outpouring of the Holy Spirit”.
And you can’t answer that question without further dismantling your tradition so you avoid it. And will continue to avoid it.
You cited somthing about faith in Jesus quoting Romans 10 if I remember correctly. But we both know, Jeus was hidden in the Old Testament. He was there and active, but hidden. So the Old Testament Saints couldn’t get the Holy Spirit in THAT manner.
The Old Testament Saints DIDN’T know or see Jesus (they longed to–as Jesus said–but didn’t) so your bit about Romans 10 is pointless.
You doubled down on secrecy when I asked “HOW” these guys get the Holy Spirit, so now I’m forced to come up with hypothetical scenarios, which you’ll undobtedly say you didn’t affirm (after you see where I will show the natural result of your theology). Then you will go back to more obfuscating language because you’ll have to.
Something special occurred when The Lord Jesus came thetazlord.
Something special that was NOT present to the Old Testament Saints, until Jesus came, Incarnated, died, went to Sheol (Hades), and opened up Heaven to them because they didn’t have the Holy Spirit, at least in the same way WE have the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.
So instead of going immediately to Heaven, they went to “the bosom of Abraham.”. . . . Because they had to. It was the best they could do without the gift of Jesus’ work and it was fitting Jesus Himself should lead these people into Heaven later after Calvary.
Whatever the Old Testament saints had, wasn’t enough to get them to Heaven until
Jesus could provide for them at a later time ( hint: It was the Baptism of desire and reception of the Holy Spirit because they, through no fault of their own, but living up to the graces they were given, etc. Could now receive such graces. Whereas before Jesus sacrifice on Calvary, they could not enter Heaven.), due to unopened gates of Heaven as they did not yet possess the Holy Spirit in the same way we do (until Jesus gave them that Baptism of desire that they desired even in Hades).
Even holy Elijah went off to the Hebrew word for “the sky” which is sometimes translated as “heaven”.
Elijah did not have the Holy Spirit in the same sense as New Testament Baptized people, and thus did not open the gates of Heaven either.
