Question about lying/is this mortal sin

Basically my friend said something and I replied “but I haven’t watched *** ****” and about half way through saying it i realised I was lying but said the rest. Then about 15 minutes later I told him the technical truth. Am I in mortal sin?
 
If you are in a state of sin, it’s certainly not mortal. Lying about a television show is not grave matter.

And, taking into consideration the fact that you later recanted, and that your friend knows the truth, I would say its most certainly venial. Be at peace.
 
I was not a tv show, maybe you can guess but something very embarrassing

Still, I would say it is venial- mortal occasions of lying, IMO, are ‘No, honey, i’m not cheating on you / Your honor, I did not kill that man’ / claiming to be a doctor when you are not
 
Would the type of pornography I watched make it mortal or in the case I am in would it always be venial, whatever kind
 
Your lying, in this case, is venial

The willing and knowing viewing of pornography is mortal.
 
For the lie, no, but perhaps it would be best not to talk to your friends about pornography, especially if they are not Christian (or otherwise strongly opposed to it on moral grounds).

No problem. Just don’t want to set a bad example or come across as in approval is what I mean.

BTW if you continue to have questions come up related to lies and grave matter, maybe direct them to your confessor so he can advise you further.
 
Watching porn is the bigger sin. Just don’t do it and then you won’t ahve to worry.
