What I mean by this is trying to get to someone on a subconscious level to get someone to do something. An example of this is, apparently if you get someone to do a small favour for you they subconciously like you more, things like that. Is that allowed or is that the sin of witchcraft?

I think we discussed this not long ago Michael, you can look it up.
Manipulation is pretty much using someone ,often if they don’t realise it’s still mean and selfish.
One should always, always give the respect owed to all people, the same as you would have done unto you.God bless.

Snake in apple tree - to Eve.

Watch out though, when you get older.
Some women reversal role - and do the same thing - to men.
They marry. Divorce. She gets house and alimony.

Hi Michael, this is my personal opinion, so don’t take it as absolute facts:

There’s nothing wrong with getting people to like you in itself. It depends on why you’re doing it. If you’re doing it to use other people, or motives arising from self-love or vanity, then that is wrong.

If you’re doing it to make friends, getting to know someone else that’s fine. For example, an easy way to make someone like you is to genuinely smile at them. Humans are social creatures by nature, so we want to be “part of the pack” and feel included. By smiling, we’re giving them a sense of welcome and openness. This would also cause them to like you. Nothing wrong with this, unless – as mentioned before – you’re doing it for evil intentions I.e getting someone to like you to use them.

I wouldn’t consider getting people to like you “manipulation”, unless you’re deliberately manipulating their feelings to suit selfish purposes I.e getting on someone’s good side so you can take advantage of them

Religions use manipulation all the time to try and convert people to their way of thinking, Politicians do it. Everyone does it for some reason or another.

Manipulation like the word Propaganda , are just that, A word.

Normally it comes with a negative undertone, but in reality it isn’t positive or negative. Like a tool or weapon can be used for positive or negative means.

Managers manipulate employees to work harder or to like them by bringing in morning coffee an treats, or promising a bonus , or threatening to fire so many people from the production line if they dont meet a quota.

Teachers manipulate school children by doing similar things, offering candy or treats if children behave or letting them out of class early etc.

I am pretty sure this comes as one of the manipulation tactics preached by the modern misogynist movement.

Be a friend to others.

Hello.

We all have a choice, habit may lessen the power of that choice, but it (the choice) is still there. It is impossible to control another person. Most of us struggle to control ourselves.

Controlling another person is an illusion. Witchcraft is more along the lines of using the demonic to try to control. With witchcraft you end up being the slave of the bad one.

Ask God what His will is for you, let yourself be under God’s control, let His will be yours.

My two cents… you are in my prayers. Please pray for me.

I don’t think that this is something a 14 year old should be spending time contemplating.

If you have issues with social interactions with your peers, a better approach would be to talk to your parents about getting help through counseling or coaching. The teen years can be difficult and getting help on navigating social situations could be helpful to you. Especially if you have anxiety or scruples, which some of your posts suggest.

Please broach the subject of all your posts here with your parents and talk to them about your fears and your needs.

I’m not really sure how you get witchcraft out of this.

As for being ‘allowed’ manipulating people is wrong, rarely effective long term, and not the way to build friendships.

It is probably best to avoid manipulating people (at least for selfish ends), but it is not witchcraft.

I can tell you have issues with scrupulosity. This is a serious issue that can effect your spiritual life and mental and emotional health. It is a form of OCD, and can cause great anxiety and doubt. I am not judging—I have it.

Second, find a Priest you can trust to be your main confessor and take your doubts and anxieties about the Faith to him and him only. Do not try to find reassurance on the internet. trust his judgment, and follow his instructions if he gives you some. Most of all, be assured that God will be there to assist you.
